Semi-Permanent
Makeup Removal In Bedfordshire
Targeted Laser Removal for Unwanted Brow Pigment
At The Laser Lab, we use Q-switched Nd:YAG laser technology to gradually fade unwanted or outdated semi-permanent brow pigment.
Whether you’re seeking significant removal, gentle lightening or preparing your brows for new work, your treatment plan will be based on the pigment’s colour, depth, composition and response to the laser.
A consultation and patch test are required before treatment, as cosmetic pigments can respond differently and may change colour during the removal process.
What SPMU Removal Can Help With
Laser removal may be suitable for:
- Brow pigment that has become too dark or heavily saturated
- Pigment that has faded to an unwanted colour
- Uneven, blurred or outdated brow work
- A brow shape or style that no longer suits you
- Lightening existing pigment before correction or new semi-permanent makeup
- Gradually removing brow pigment you no longer want
Suitability will be confirmed following your consultation and patch test, as results depend on the colour, depth and composition of the pigment.
How the Treatment Works
Nd:YAG laser light is absorbed by the cosmetic pigment in the skin.
The energy helps break the pigment into smaller particles, allowing the body to gradually clear it over time.
Cosmetic tattoo pigments vary in depth and composition, so results are unique to each person and can require multiple sessions.
Your Treatment Experience
Before treatment, we assess your pigment, discuss your goals and explain what outcomes are realistic for your specific SPMU.
During your session:
- The sensation can feel warm or sharp in small bursts
- Brows are treated in controlled passes
- Protective eyewear is always worn
- Skin may appear red or swollen afterwards
This is normal and usually short-lived.
Results & Expectations
Following the session, the area may:
- look darker before lightening
- feel warm or tender
- appear red or slightly puffy
- Over the coming weeks, the pigment may gradually soften, fade or shift in appearance as further sessions build on the results.
Your full outcome depends on pigment type, depth, natural skin tone and the number of treatments completed — this is explained during consultation.
Aftercare
After treatment, the area may feel warm and look darker temporarily.
In general:
- Keep the area cool and clean
- Avoid heat and sun for a short time
- Use SPF daily while undergoing treatment
We’ll guide you through everything you need to know.
